Impact That Lasts Beyond Our Doors

Linton was one of the very first students to walk through the doors of the Underground. Back then, he was just a middle schooler looking for a place to belong. Over time, he became part of the community, showing up, building relationships, and stepping into opportunities to grow. Whether it was helping raise money for camp or taking part in Viking trips, Linton didn’t just attend; he engaged.

Recently, Linton stopped by on a Thursday after noticing we were open. He walked in excited, eager to share his news. Linton applied for a job and was accepted!

Out of all the places he could have gone to celebrate, he chose to come back to the Underground. Even more meaningful, Linton shared that he had used his work experience with Viking Chips on his resume and listed us as a reference. The leadership, responsibility, and confidence he built through this community became part of his story as he stepped into something new.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Even as students grow older and don’t come around as often, they don’t leave what they found here behind. The relationships, the opportunities, and the support stay with them, and when life’s big moments happen, they come back to share them.

Because of your support, students like Linton aren’t just impacted for a season; they carry it with them into their future. And sometimes, they come back to remind us just how much it meant.
